An Audit and Accounting firm is looking for an Accounting Manager.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Conduct monthly and quarterly accounts reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
- Support and prepare month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Avoid legal challenges by complying with all tax and legal requirements.
- Produce payroll by initiating computer processing and conduct payroll reconciliation by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly social security contributions, annual social security settlements, end-of-service indemnity withdrawal forms, calculate the employer’s end-of-service provision, and handle other employee-related N.S.S.F. formalities.
- Perform all accounting transactions related to accruals, provisions, and general transactions.
- Manage fixed assets transactions, including processing newly acquired assets, disposal of assets, and related depreciation.
- Convert trial balance from foreign to local statutory trial balance.
- Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial statements.
- Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, reconciling entries, and providing information for auditors.
- Assist clients with their tax and technical inquiries.
- Assist clients during Ministry of Finance and NSSF inspections.
- Prepare declarations for:
Income Tax On Salaries:
- Quarterly reports to the Ministry of Finance (R10).
- Yearly reports to the Ministry of Finance (R5, R6, R7).
- Reconciliation of the tax on salaries on a year-to-date basis.
Value Added Tax:
- Ensure accurate reporting and timely deliverables.
- Review all aspects of the VAT return process and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with local VAT legislation.
Corporate Income Tax:
- Prepare year-end procedures to comply with Ministry of Finance taxation requirements.
- Prepare yearly income tax on profit declarations for S.A.L., S.A.R.L., Partnership, and individual/lump sum declarations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an audit firm as a senior accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Proficient in tax knowledge (such as Payroll, VAT, CIT)
- Preferably a member of LCPA or AICPA
- Professional diplomas such as CMA, IFRS, etc., are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency in Accounting and tax systems/ software
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Fluent in both French and English
