Our partner, an International Law firm based in Lebanon, is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team in Beirut.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing
- Prepare periodic financial statements and management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce financial reports for management
- Handle billing processes, including invoicing clients, tracking retainers, and monitoring collections
- Monitor cash flow and expenditure to ensure financial efficiency and control
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations in Lebanon and Egypt
- Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, income tax, and other statutory filings)
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes
- Handle accounts payable and receivable functions
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and tax laws in both countries
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 – 10 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Lebanese tax laws and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of Egyptian law is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good communication skills in English and Arabic
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) are a plus
- Experience working in multinational or regional companies is a plus
