Introduction

Our partner is a leading multinational energy company, operating in more than 130 countries. It is committed to providing energy that is affordable, cleaner, reliable, and accessible.
In Lebanon, the company is working on improving its financial and operational functions and is now seeking a Junior Accountant (also referred to as a Financial and Tax Accountant) on a consultancy basis.

Responsibilities

  • Invoice and Voucher Processing

    • Process invoices, expense notes, and cash-out/in vouchers.

    • Prepare documentation and obtain necessary internal approvals.

    • Record transactions in SAP and maintain proper filing.

  • Reporting & Payments

    • Generate relevant reports from SAP to support payment preparation.

    • Update and release prepayments and accruals.

    • Record accruals in SAP as part of the monthly closure process.

    • Submit payments including:

      • Rents (withholding taxes included).

      • Salaries and associated taxes.

      • Utility bills and vendor invoices.

  • Reconciliations

    • Perform bank reconciliations, petty cash reconciliations, and loan reconciliations.

  • Asset Management

    • Record new assets in SAP.

  • Ad-hoc Finance & Tax Tasks

    • Assist in gathering supporting documentation for tax reporting (VAT / WHT).

    • Provide documentation support for internal, statutory, authority, and partner audits.

    • Assist with cost structure reporting.

    • Support registration of new employees (local and expatriates) with authorities.

    • Calculate stamp duties for new contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.

  • Experience with SAP is highly desirable.

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, tax concepts (VAT/WHT), and reconciliation processes.

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Schedule & Duration

  • 1-year contract with flexibility for renewal.

  • Standard working hours as per company guidelines.
