Our partner, an international law firm, with offices in the UK, UAE, KSA, Lebanon, Kuwait, and Egypt, is currently looking for a Group Financial Controller, based in Lebanon, handling group-wide operations.
Position Overview:
The Group Financial Controller, based in Beirut, will oversee the financial operations at a group level. This role requires CPA or ACCA certification, strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP, and extensive experience in managing group finances across regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Group-Level Financial Management:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the group’s financial operations including tax, budgeting, forecasting, closings, treasury, and financial reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate group reporting and consolidation in accordance with IFRS and GAAP standards.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for adjustments.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all tax regulations across the group’s operational regions.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed to optimize tax strategies.
- Treasury Management:
- Manage the group’s cash flow, investment activities, and risk management.
- Develop strategies to optimize liquidity and financial performance.
- Financial Closings:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements.
- Group Reporting and Consolidation:
- Prepare and present consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education & Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification.
- Degree in Accounting.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of relevant experience in the field
- Experience in handling financial operations for a group, with exposure to international operations preferred.
- Prior experience in a law firm, accounting & auditing firm, Big Four, or professional services company is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP standards.
- Proficient in financial software and tools used for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
