An international architecture firm, with innovative design and projects around the globe is looking to hire a Studio Manager – Architect with regional or international exposure.

 

The Studio Manager will leverage their technical expertise to lead operations, design production, and technology integration within the office. This role encompasses managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing project execution, and optimizing workflows through advanced architectural tools and software. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, a thorough understanding of architectural processes, and a commitment to driving innovation in design and project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Studio Operations:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the architectural studio, ensuring alignment with company goals and project objectives
  • Lead and mentor architects, designers, and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
  • Manage resource planning, team assignments, and project schedules
  • Conduct performance reviews and facilitate professional development for studio members
  1. Technical Design Management:
  • Oversee the technical delivery of architectural projects, ensuring compliance with design standards, building codes, and regulations
  • Guide teams in the effective use of BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools, CAD software, and 3D rendering platforms
  • Ensure integration of technical systems with creative processes, balancing aesthetic goals with structural and technical feasibility
  • Troubleshoot design and software issues during project development
  1. Project Oversight & Coordination:
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Coordinate between internal teams, contractors, consultants, and clients throughout all project phases
  • Manage multiple architectural projects simultaneously, ensuring seamless collaboration across disciplines
  • Ensure quality control and consistency in all deliverables, including drawings, models, and reports
  1. Technology & Innovation:
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and implement new tools and technologies to optimize studio workflows
  • Lead the adoption and integration of BIM technologies, digital fabrication tools, and cloud-based collaboration platforms
  • Explore opportunities to leverage VR/AR, parametric design, and data-driven design solutions
  • Develop technical processes and templates to enhance efficiency in design documentation and delivery
  1. Client & Stakeholder Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Participate in client presentations, providing technical insights and guidance
  • Collaborate with leadership to align studio capabilities with client needs and market trends
  1. Budgeting & Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage studio budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and technology adoption
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to acquire software licenses, hardware, and equipment

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • 7+ years of experience in an architectural studio or design firm, including leadership roles
  • Strong technical proficiency in BIM software (Revit, ArchiCAD) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Rhino)
  • Experience with 3D visualization software (Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion) and design tools like Grasshopper
  • Understanding of parametric design, computational design tools, and VR/AR technologies
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and complex projects
  • Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and architectural standards
  • Expertise in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of digital fabrication methods and construction technologies is a plus
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus
