An International Telecommunications company is looking for an SMS Routing Manager to be located in Beirut, Lebanon.
Job Overview:
The SMS Routing Manager is tasked with managing and optimizing SMS traffic by strategically handling routing decisions, maintaining carrier partnerships, and ensuring exceptional message delivery quality. This role demands a combination of analytical acumen, technical proficiency, and industry insights to enhance SMS routing operations, maximize profitability, and ensure adherence to regulations and service level agreements (SLAs).
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Manage SMS routing tables to achieve the best balance of cost efficiency and service quality.
- Analyze delivery performance data to identify and resolve routing inefficiencies.
- Develop and execute strategies to minimize costs while maintaining high delivery standards.
- Assess and integrate new routing options to enhance SMS delivery capabilities.
- Oversee MNP (Mobile Number Portability) and HLR (Home Location Register) services.
- Serve as the escalation point for vendor-related routing issues.
- Monitor live SMS traffic to identify and address routing or delivery concerns promptly.
- Leverage tools and platforms to review message delivery reports and troubleshoot failures.
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve network or platform issues affecting delivery.
- Ensure that SMS traffic adheres to global regulations, such as GDPR, TCPA, and local telecom laws.
- Maintain thorough documentation of routing modifications and performance insights.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on delivery performance, costs, and routing improvements to senior leadership.
- Partner with account managers, sales, and support teams to align routing strategies with client needs.
- Work with finance and billing departments to validate traffic volumes and reconcile associated costs.
Education and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Applications, IT or related field.
- Familiarity with SMS protocols
- Understanding of MNP (Mobile Number Portability) and HLR (Home Location Register) services.
- Knowledge of international regulations, such as GDPR and local telecom laws.
- Proficiency in analyzing message delivery reports, identifying issues, and optimizing delivery rates.
- Certifications related to telecommunications or network management is a plus.
