Our client, a well-established holding company in the steel industry, operates several subsidiaries across Africa specializing in manufacturing, processing, and distribution is looking to hire an accountant. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with statutory and tax regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to support management in decision-making through financial insights.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation, and petty cash.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and conducting variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and tax obligations.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience in a corporate setting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
