Our partners, a leading holding company in the steel industry, it manages multiple subsidiaries across Africa specializing in manufacturing, processing, and distribution. They are currently hiring a Head of Sales for their offices in Ghana.

The Head of Sales and Marketing is responsible for formulating and executing strategic sales and marketing plans to increase the company’s market share. This includes managing teams, aligning operations with the company’s goals, and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Responsibilities
  • Planning and Strategy
    • Analyze market trends and identify opportunities or gaps.
    • Develop strategies to attract new clients and retain current customers.
    • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights.
    • Align sales and marketing strategies with organizational goals.
    • Manage budgets and monitor expenditure.
  • Sales Operations
    • Forecast demand and coordinate with internal departments.
    • Set team sales targets based on industry benchmarks.
    • Build and maintain client relationships; assist in deal closure.
    • Analyze and review sales performance reports.
    • Ensure timely collections and prevent bad debts.
  • Marketing
    • Monitor and analyze competitors’ activities and adjust marketing strategies.
    • Oversee product research and branding efforts.
    • Maintain consistent corporate image across all platforms.
    • Lead promotional and advertising initiatives.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Strengthen dealer and client relationships.
    • Gather customer feedback and identify improvement areas.
    • Network with industry influencers and partners.
    • Represent the company at trade events.
  • People & Culture
    • Foster a strong team culture aligned with company values.
    • Support team development, performance, and engagement.
    • Approve staffing needs and conduct interviews.
    • Promote and support training initiatives.
    • Lead performance reviews and talent coaching.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales, preferably in the steel, cement, or paint industry.
  • Deep understanding of sales and marketing strategies in industrial sectors.
  • Strong leadership and people management.
  • Negotiation and presentation expertise.
  • Strategic thinking, customer orientation, and conflict resolution.
  • Multilingualism (English, French, Portuguese) is preferred or willingness to learn.
