A leading Building & Civil Engineering Contractors Company located in Nigeria is looking for an experienced Construction Planner to join their team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of detailed project schedules for complex road construction projects using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel, ensuring optimal timelines and resource allocation.
- Coordinate and collaborate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services and smooth project execution.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and designs using AutoCAD to support planning and construction activities.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or risks, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Manage resource planning and budgeting to ensure projects remain within scope and financial targets.
- Prepare and present detailed progress reports and project updates to senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
- Oversee compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and quality standards throughout all phases of road construction.
- Supervise and mentor junior planners and project teams, providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality execution.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and quality control records.
- Resolve issues and conflicts that arise during the construction process, maintaining project alignment and communication across all parties.
- Ensure final project deliverables meet client specifications and industry best practices through thorough inspections and testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in road construction planning, with a strong background in project scheduling and resource management.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD, and Excel.
- Deep knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to project challenges.
- Ability to interpret complex construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Commitment to safety and quality assurance in all project activities.
