An international lighting company headquartered in the USA, with offices in Cyprus, KSA, and Lebanon, is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Roumieh, Lebanon. This person will create 3D models and technical drawings for custom and standard lighting products. The role involves managing the design process from start to finish, working with different teams, and making sure all products meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design and Development

    • Create 3D computer models, detailed drawings, and lists of materials for lighting fixtures using SolidWorks.

    • Design different parts like brackets, canopies, and metal profiles.

    • Make sure designs can be easily made, are cost effective, and work as they should.

  • Prototyping and Testing

    • Supervise the building of prototypes and work with production teams to fix any technical problems.

    • Help with different types of testing, including light measurement, heat analysis, and tests for water or dust protection.

    • Adjust and improve designs based on test results and feedback.

  • Collaboration and Compliance

    • Work with suppliers to create tools and molds.

    • Prepare technical documents, assembly instructions, and quality control checklists.

    • Provide support during production to ensure quality.

    • Make sure products follow safety and quality standards (like ENEC, CE, and UL).

    • Prepare files and documents for product certifications and client approvals.

    • Work closely with electrical engineers and other team members to combine all parts into one final product.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in product or mechanical design, preferably in lighting or consumer products.

  • Strong skills in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, creating assemblies, and making technical drawings.

  • Knowledge of different manufacturing processes like working with sheet metal and die casting.

  • Familiarity with different types of product testing and certification standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on details.

  • The ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work well both alone and with a team.

  • Strong communication skills in English; French is a plus.
