Our partner, a leading international retail group with over 80,000 employees and operations across 17 countries, is currently hiring a Merchandiser to join their team. This role is essential to driving merchandise planning, stock flow efficiency, and commercial success across the retail portfolio.
Responsibilities
Merchandise Planning & Sales Performance
- Support business and merchandise planning to achieve sales and margin targets.
- Forecast stock requirements and oversee intake planning.
- Participate in range selection and product procurement through host brand reviews or direct negotiations.
Store Execution & Pricing Strategy
- Monitor merchandising execution in stores and suggest space optimization based on category performance.
- Recommend retail pricing, define markdown strategies, and propose promotional sale lines.
Product & Promotion Management
- Assist in planning promotional events in collaboration with Operations and Visual Merchandising teams.
- Maintain awareness of brand identity and latest fashion trends during range and display planning.
Stock Management & Systems
- Ensure stock file accuracy and system integrity.
- Utilize merchandising systems and tools effectively and suggest process improvements.
Team Supervision & Collaboration
- Coach and supervise assistant merchandisers within the team.
- Build strong internal and external relationships to support effective merchandise decision-making.
Qualifications
- Good level of secondary education; relevant diploma/degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an assistant merchandiser or in a similar retail role.
- Background in fashion or retail business is preferred.
- Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and merchandising systems.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; comfortable using smartphone technology.
